NSQMRA
Point and Rain Out Policy
The
Board of Directors along with the NSQMRA
Membership in an effort to have a fair and equitable policy concerning point
races and rain date make-ups have voted to update its existing procedures.
Rain Outs:
In the event that racing begins and all heat races have not been completed
due to a weather cancellation NSQMRA will try to make up the race the next
fun night.
If all heat races have been
completed but none of the mains have been completed, points will be awarded
based on the results of the heat race for each division. If a division
completes its "A" main race the results of that race will count and point's
will be awarded based on those results. Those divisions in which the mains
have not been completed, points will be reverted back to the results of the
heat race results.
In the event the
racing program is delayed due to weather, the decision to delay or cancel
the event will be voted on by the membership in attendance. When the racing
program is delayed due to weather and a late start is decided upon by the
members then only one race (heat/mains) will be ran and point's will be
awarded based on the results.
Points:
Only New Smyrna QMRA
members will be eligible to receive points. Points are awarded to the
competitive divisions only. Novice divisions will not receive point's.
The point system begins at
30 points to the winner of the A-Main Feature event. Each finishing
position following the winner will decreased by one point through 10th place
(8th for Jr. Honda). The system will continue to decrease in points
for the B and C feature and so on. All drivers who "attempt to race"
in the feature event will receive points EXCEPT for any driver who is
disqualified. Drivers will also be awarded points base on their finish
in the heat races. The points will begin at 15 and decrease by one
point.
Junior Honda drivers
turning nine (9) during the year will be allowed to move up to Senior Honda
at anytime as per the QMA rules. A Jr. Honda driver who will be moving
up to Sr. Honda must do so by the first points race following the completion
of the Dirt Grands in order to transfer their accumulated points. At
any point in the season that a driver moves from Junior to Senior Honda,
he/she can only carry over as many points that are equal to one (1) point
less then the current third place Sr. Honda driver at the time of move up.
At the end of the season
the driver who has accumulated the most points will determine a division
champion. In the event there is a tie the championship will be
determined using the drivers total number of feature wins, then second
place finishes, thirds, and so on until the tie has been broken. Only
80% of the races run will count towards the point's championship. This
allows each drive to drop a low-point night or to miss an event if
necessary. A driver must race at least 20% of the actual point races
ran to receive a trophy and be invited to the end of the year awards banquet. All drivers
must also be members of NSQMRA.
