Summer Season Ends With Record Car Count - 61

Wow, where did the summer go? It's already mid-August and that means two things, daily rain showers and back to school for all of our drivers. August 1st was a total rain-out. The track was under several inches of water that had nowhere to drain. August 8 was the last race night that wasn't a school night for most of our drivers. Seminole County students were already back to school.

With the Mid-Florida track temporarily closed, Gasoline Alley, the Western Grands, the Eastern Grands, and one rain-out, it was obvious the drivers were anxious to get back to some home-town racing. We had a record high number of 61 competitors show up to ready to race. The record car count made for a very late evening of racing for all of our families.

Reminder: The Dirt Grands run August 12 through August 19, in Terre Haute, Indiana. There have been many requests to practice under "race conditions". So, August 15 will be used as our first evening open practice. The track will close promptly at 10:00 p.m. Our points-night racing will resume on August 22. Good luck to the Abbott, Carr and Keeling families traveling to Indiana!
