Fuel System Ensures Fair Play

Little New Smyrna 's inaugural season has been one of many firsts, not only on the track, but off the track as well. Last week NSQMRA began using a new "Pump-Around" fueling system. All competitors brought their cars to the fueling area before their main events. Each car had their fuel tank totally drained using a hose connected to the Pump-Around. After all the fuel tanks were emptied, the refueling process began. With a different hose connected to the machine, all the cars had their fuel tanks refilled with the combined fuel collected from each competitor in that class. Unfortunately to enforce "fair play" for everyone, systems like the Pump-Around are necessary. We were a little worried that the new fueling system would slow down the program. But, thanks to all of the handlers being prepared and in the fueling area promptly, we still ran our regular schedule of events. Of course our drivers did their part and kept up with a very fast paced night of racing. Thanks to everyone who jumps in to help where ever needed. (Race Results 10/3/01)
