New Smyrna QMRA
Racing Procedures
Registration is held from 5:00-6:00—if you come late to registration and do not call to alert anyone you will be late then your driver will start at the back of the lowest heat race.
Absolutely no unlicensed drivers should be operating vehicles at the track. Anyone caught doing so will be asked to leave. This is a huge safety and liability issue. Please obey the track rules so that we can continue to keep our race track.
All cars in all divisions will run transponders. If you forget to put a transponder on your car you will be called off the track to put one on and will start at the rear. If you own your transponder and it is not charged or picking up on the loop then you will be called in the pits to put a club transponder on and will start at the rear. If you rent a club transponder and it is not charged or picking up on the loop you will be called in the pits to get another one and will NOT lose your starting position.
If your driver comes in the pits during warm up laps they will lose their starting position and start at the rear.
There will be a one minute time limit on warm up laps.
There is an eight minute time limit on all races. If there is a caution and time runs out we will get a final line up and throw the checkered flag. If the race is running under green and the clock runs out the race will continue until the checkered flag is thrown or until there is a caution, which at that time a final line up will be given and the checkered flag will be thrown.
If we have more than 75 cars all heat races will be 20 laps (with the exception of Jr. and Sr. Novice which only runs 15) and all lower mains will be 20 laps. The A Mains will run their normal amount of laps—20 for Jr. and Sr. Novice, 25 for Jr. Honda and 30 for everything else.
If we are running late the race director can change the amount of laps run in the heats or mains so long as he announces it to the handlers before the heats or mains begin.
If there are two heats the top 3 cars will go to the A main, then next 3 to the B and so on—this will allow 4 cars to transfer from the lower mains with the exception of Jr. Honda which will only transfer 2. If there are 3 heats the top 2 cars will go to the A main, then next 2 to the B and so on—this will again allow 4 cars to transfer from the lower mains with the exception of Jr. Honda which will still only transfer 2.
If there is more than one Jr. or Sr. Novice Heat the drivers of Heat 1 will race the same drivers in Main 1 and the drivers of Heat 2 will race the same drivers in Main 2—we do not transfer cars since Novice is a learning not competitive class.
Just a reminder that fuel needs to be purchased from the gas station across the street from Little New Smyrna. All honda classes will need 87 octane, world formula will run 93 octane. NSQMRA will be getting a fuel sample on race day for testing. If your fuel doesn't test correct, your driver can be DQ'd. Please direct any questions on the fueling procedures to Tracy Hosford, tech director.
